Yamuna Karjee was a popular freedom fighter, independence activist and patriot who enthusiastically participated in the Indian freedom Movement. Yamuna Karjee was highly inspired with the leadership of Swami Sahajanand Saraswati who started the peasant movement and kisan movement.
Yamuna Karjee along with Rahul Sankatriyan and other notable political leaders, Karjee started publishing weekly Hindi journal with the title Hunkar in the year 1940. Later on Hunkar became the ambassador of kisan Movement. He was also the president of Kisan Sabha and very soon elected as president of journalist association.
Political career of Yamuna Karjee
After completing his education, he got the offer of numerous government jobs. But karjee rejected all the offers which came from government. Yamuna Karjee became a notable Hindi Journalist. He joined the editorial division of Bharat Mitra. Bharat Mitra was a Hindi weekly which were published in Calcutta. From 1920-1921, Karjee aggressively participated in Non cooperation movement
